CCTV MONITORING IN LONDON, THE ESSENTIALS

CCTV monitoring is the live watching of your camera feeds by trained, SIA-licensed operators who spot incidents as they happen, record what they see, and escalate to you, your on-site team or the emergency services. We monitor your existing cameras — we don’t sell you new ones.

Quick facts: SIA-licensed CCTV operators · SIA Approved Contractor (includes CCTV) · 24/7 cover with emergency attendance within 60 minutes · from £19 per hour per officer · every London borough covered.

WHAT IS CCTV MONITORING?

CCTV monitoring is the service of having trained operators watch your camera feeds live, rather than leaving the system to record on its own. An operator sees what’s happening as it happens — an intruder at a perimeter, a door propped open, a vehicle circling a site at 3am — and acts on it immediately.

That action is the whole point. Depending on what’s agreed, the operator alerts your on-site team, calls a keyholder, escalates to the emergency services, or dispatches an officer to attend. Every incident is logged, so you have a clear written record alongside the footage.

It’s different from recording, and different from installation. Recording gives you evidence after the fact. Installation puts the cameras up. Monitoring is the part that turns a passive system into something that can actually interrupt an incident while it’s still happening — and it’s the part most sites are missing.

WHAT OUR CCTV MONITORING COVERS

We monitor the cameras you already have. Some clients need overnight cover on an empty site; others want an operator watching a live control room through the working day. We survey the premises first, then build the monitoring around your cameras, your hours and your risk — not around a package.

Incident Escalation & Response

Clear, agreed escalation: alert your on-site team, call a keyholder, contact the emergency services, or dispatch an officer to attend, anywhere in London.

Live Camera Monitoring

SIA-licensed operators watching your feeds in real time, spotting intrusions, unauthorised access and unusual activity while there’s still time to act on it.

Out-of-Hours & Overnight Cover

Cover for the hours your site is empty and most exposed — nights, weekends and shutdowns — when nobody is on site to notice anything.

Incident Logging & Evidence

Every incident recorded in writing with times and detail, so you have a usable account for insurers, investigations or your own records — not just hours of unwatched footage.

WHY CAMERAS ALONE DON’T STOP CRIME

A camera is a witness, not a guard. It records what happened, but it can’t challenge anyone, call anyone, or interrupt anything. These are the gaps that show up when nobody is watching the feed.

BEHIND THE SCREENS: WHAT OUR OPERATORS DO

Monitoring isn’t sitting and staring. Here’s what an SIA-licensed operator is actually doing across a shift on your cameras:

  • Watching your live feeds for intrusion, unauthorised access, loitering and anything out of pattern for that site and hour

  • Verifying what’s real — separating a genuine incident from wildlife, weather or a returning staff member, so you’re not called out for nothing

  • Escalating immediately by the agreed route: your on-site team, your keyholder, the emergency services, or an officer dispatched to attend

  • Logging every incident in writing with times and detail, and flagging camera faults, obstructions and blind spots as they appear

  • Handling footage and data properly — controlled access, correct retention, and a clear record of who viewed what

FROM SITE SURVEY TO LIVE MONITORING

Getting monitoring in place is straightforward, and it starts with understanding the site rather than the cameras:

Dedicated CCTV Monitoring by SIA-Licensed Control Room Operators

From live camera monitoring to escalation and reporting, our SIA-licensed operators monitor your existing cameras and your full site, turning footage into fast action.

WHERE CCTV SYSTEMS USUALLY FAIL

Most sites already have cameras. These are the reasons those cameras don’t prevent much — and what monitoring is there to catch:

  • Cameras recording with nobody watching the feed

  • Blind spots, obstructed views and cameras knocked out of position that nobody has checked in months

  • Footage never reviewed until after something’s gone

  • Recordings overwritten before anyone thinks to look

  • Poor night coverage — the hours that matter most

  • No written incident record to go with the footage

  • Your Content Goes Here
  • Data protection handled loosely: unclear retention, uncontrolled access

SITES WE MONITOR

CCTV monitoring suits any site where cameras are already in place but nobody is watching them when it counts:

  • Construction sites and developments, especially overnight and during shutdowns

  • Warehouses, yards and industrial units

  • Empty and vacant properties between tenants or works

  • Retail premises and stockrooms out of hours

  • Corporate offices and multi-tenant buildings

  • Car parks, estates and communal areas

AREAS WE COVER

We provide CCTV monitoring across all 32 London boroughs and the City of London — including Westminster, Camden, Islington, Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lambeth, Hackney, Newham, Wandsworth, Greenwich, Barking & Dagenham and Croydon. Wherever your cameras are in the capital, we can watch them and attend within 60 minutes.

WHY SITES PUT THEIR CAMERAS IN OUR HANDS

We’ve protected London sites since 2004, and our SIA Approved Contractor status covers CCTV as well as security guarding, door supervision and key holding — audited annually, not self-declared. Our operators are licensed specifically for public space surveillance, and the same company that watches your cameras can also put an officer on site when something happens.

Approved for CCTV, Not Just Guarding

Our SIA Approved Contractor status covers CCTV alongside guarding, door supervision and key holding — independently audited every year.

Licensed to Watch, Vetted to Work

Every operator holds a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence and is screened to BS 7858 before they’re trusted with your feeds.

Watching and Attending, From One Company

When an operator sees something, we can dispatch our own officer — anywhere in London within 60 minutes. No second supplier, no handover delay.

A Rate You Can Plan Around

Our monitoring starts from £19 per hour per officer, quoted plainly after a site survey — no hidden call-out charges buried in the small print.

CCTV MONITORING FAQs

CCTV monitoring is the live watching of your camera feeds by trained operators who spot incidents as they happen, verify what’s real, log it in writing, and escalate immediately — to your team, a keyholder, the emergency services, or an officer sent to attend.

Yes — that’s the normal arrangement. We survey the site, look at what your cameras cover and when you’re exposed, and build the monitoring around the system you already have.

Yes. Anyone monitoring CCTV in a public space for security purposes must hold a valid SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence — it’s a criminal offence to do the role without one. Every operator we supply is licensed, and you can verify any of them on the SIA public register.

Our monitoring starts from £19 per hour per officer. The exact rate depends on the hours covered, how many cameras and sites are watched, and what escalation you need. We quote clearly after a site survey.

Yes. We cover daytime, overnight, weekends and full 24/7 across every London borough, backed by a 24-hour team and emergency attendance within 60 minutes.

Exactly what we agreed in advance. The operator verifies it’s genuine, then follows your escalation route — alerting your on-site team, calling your keyholder, contacting the emergency services, or dispatching one of our officers to attend. Every step is logged in writing.

Yes. CCTV in the UK falls under data protection law and the ICO’s guidance on surveillance, covering things like signage, retention periods, controlled access to footage and responding to requests for it. We work within those requirements and keep a clear record of who accessed what.
