Key Holding in London
Key holding means a security company holds a set of your keys and responds on your behalf. If an alarm activates, we attend, check the premises, deal with what we find and secure the building again — instead of calling you out at 3am.
Quick facts: SIA Approved Contractor for Key Holding · SIA-licensed, BS 7858-vetted officers · 24/7 alarm response · attendance within 60 minutes · every London borough covered.
What Is Key Holding?
Key holding is a security service where a licensed company holds a set of keys to your premises and responds to alarms and emergencies on your behalf. It is also written as keyholding, and it usually comes paired with alarm response.
Here is how it works in practice. Your keys are held securely and coded, so nobody can tell from the key which building it opens. When your alarm activates, the monitoring centre calls us instead of your staff. A trained officer attends, checks the perimeter and interior, deals with whatever caused the activation, resets the system and locks up. You get a written report of what happened.
The same service covers routine lock-ups and openings, access for contractors, and checks on premises standing empty.
Our Key Holding and Alarm Response Services
Every set of keys we hold is logged, coded and stored securely, and every response is recorded. Whether you need cover for one shop or a portfolio of sites, the service is built the same way: we hold the keys, we answer the call, and a licensed officer attends instead of your staff.
Secure Key Holding
We hold and log your keys in coded, secure storage. Nothing on the key identifies your premises, and every issue and return is recorded.
24/7 Alarm Response
When your alarm activates, your monitoring centre calls us. An SIA-licensed officer attends, checks the building inside and out, and reports back.
Lock-Up and Opening
Officers open your premises in the morning and secure them at night, so the same person isn’t always first in and last out.
Contractor & Emergency Access
We let in engineers, cleaners and emergency services when you can’t be there, and stay while they’re on site.
Vacant & Empty Property Cover
For premises standing empty between tenants or sales, we hold the keys, check the building regularly and respond to activations.
Written Incident Reports
Every attendance comes with a record of what triggered it, what the officer found and what was done — useful for you and for your insurer.

What You’re Actually Buying With a Keyholding Contract
Key holding is a promise to turn up. The value isn’t in the paperwork — it’s in whether someone actually answers at 3am and whether the person who arrives knows what they’re doing. We’ve been holding keys for London businesses since 2004, and our SIA Approved Contractor status covers Key Holding specifically, not just guarding.
Approved for Key Holding Specifically
The SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme audits us for Key Holding as its own category, alongside Security Guarding, Door Supervision and Public Space CCTV.
Vetted to Hold Your Keys
Every responding officer is SIA-licensed and screened to BS 7858 — the standard that matters when someone can unlock your building.
Sixty Minutes, Not “As Soon As Possible”
We attend anywhere in London within 60 minutes. Most competitors won’t put a number on it at all.
A Real Control Room, Not a Diverted Phone
Our control room is staffed around the clock, so the call is answered by someone awake and on duty.
